Throughout the last several years of
experience in handling critical mutual aid incidents using
the L.E.A.N. protocols, the members of the L.E.A.N.
Committee have found the need to have additional information
available to the dispatchers managing that incident. The
L.E.A.N. Committee believes that by sharing Alias Database
information from every Communications Center, dispatchers
can determine which officer, or which agency, is
transmitting. The obvious result is increased officer
safety.
In order for this to become a useful tool, the information
must conform to a standard that can be understood by
dispatchers from every communications center. The L.E.A.N.
Committee has approved the following format for entries in
each agency's Alias Database.
